The first day in Tokyo, our friend Kuniko and her boyfriend took us to Asakusa, historic neighborhood and former center of the city. We saw the Thunder Gate and the Senso-ji temple, the oldest in Tokyo.

Some other cool stuff I saw on our first day. We went to the Ueno park, Ameyoko market and the neighborhoods of Harajuku, Omotesando and Shibuya.

Every sunday, outside the Meiji Jingu Shrine, teenagers gather to dress up in costumes.
