Our honeymoon begins! We arrived at Belize City to discover that next flight would be on a tiny 8-seat plane. It was a short, smooth flight and we got a glimpse of the belizean rain forrest and citrus fields.

Then we arrived to Dangriga, where our guide "Golden" picked us up and took us to the resort in the small town of Hopkins. The place is beautiful; it has a pool by the beach and its own boats for trips to the reef.

There are also 3 cats and a dog in the hotel.

Here is our tree house, which is more like an elevated wooden cottage surrounded by trees. I loved it!

And then the tough times began. Hamacs, siestas, pinas coladas by the pool...

...and lobster. The food was pretty good. Sherema (below) made sure Felix could eat and King (last picture) made sure we had steady alcohol levels in our blood (you know, to repel the mosquitoes)!

We went kayaking on the Sitee river and saw some cool birds and little crabs, but the crocodiles weren't around that day.

We also went snorkeling and saw huge stingrays, crabs, morey eels and  lots of beautiful fish.

Being by the biggest coral reef in the western hemisphere, we decided to dive not only one, but two days. It was really good! we saw big turtles, crabs, lobsters, barracudas, squids, manta rays and the school of tarpins in the picture; they were huge and passed right by us, it was very exciting!  The last picture is with Giovanny, our dive master. Also, please note how Felix captured my backward roll entry (third pic).

We came back from our dive just in time for a tropical storm!  the next day one of the couples we met got married at the hotel and, still in wedding mode, we decided to attend the ceremony.

And that was our awesome honeymoon!    Back to the tiny plane, to Dangriga, To Belize City, to Houston, to New York, to real life...
